The Weaves is a wooden screen meant to interact with wind and highlight the material properties of wood. It is inspired by aerodynamics and the way wind interacts with obstacles. Each strand of wood is bent and curved around an object they way that wind would move around this object. Sheets of plywood were cut in the strands, glue laminated, curved using a jig then slotted into one another.
